Recreational Activities

These recreational courses are aimed at young people between 6 and 12 years of age, and provide a chance to have some diversion while learning the basic techniques of circus arts.

The program is also designed to help develop their coordination, concentration, perseverance and motor skills. All courses are held at Saint-Bernardin School studios. Participants have access to state-of-the-art equipment used by professionals. 

Teaching approach

The School primarily emphasizes the lighter side of these activities. The courses are presented in a spirit of play; students are able to have fun while learning various circus disciplines and techniques.

  • Acro-cirque / 6 to 8 years oldOpen or Close

    This course focuses on the overall development of the child and takes the form of circuits where the basic techniques of acrobatics, balancing and manipulation (including juggling) are explored. The instructors adapt the course content according to the skill level and physical condition of each participant. No pre-requesite is required to take this course.

    Option 1| Classes schedule : May 3 to June 7
    Tuesday : 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  

     

    Option 2| Classes schedule : May 4 to June 8
    Wednesday : 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. 

     

  • Acro-cirque / 9 to 12 years oldOpen or Close

    This course focuses on the overall development of the child and takes the form of circuits where basic and intermediate techniques of acrobatics, balancing and manipulation (including juggling) are explored. Participants in this course may explore additional disciplines such as unicycle, stilts and devil stick. The instructors adapt the course content according to the skill level and physical condition of each participant, from beginner to intermediate. No prerequisite is required to take this course.
